Kate Forster is a doctor who lives in a beautiful home by a lake. Forced to move elsewhere, she requests that any correspondence that arrives at the lake house be passed on to her new address. To her surprise, she soon receives a romantic note from Alex Burnham, an architect who lives in the cottage she once called home. However, a look at the postmark on the letter reveals that he lived at the home two years before she did, and that somehow they've come in contact with one another through a space in time.
If the synopsis of this film sounds cheezy and lame, there's good reason - it is cheezy and lame! Give me a break. A man and woman who live two years apart in time(one is in 2004, the other in 2006) can communicate by placing letters in the mail, but can't see each other. Let me be clear, when they are both standing at the mailbox in front of the lake house, one of them writes a note, places it in the mailbox and lifts the flag. The other person can see the flag being raised, reads the letter that was just left and responds right back. So, even though they are 2 years apart in time, they can "converse" through letters in real time. There's just so many things wrong with that (and missed opportunities) that I don't know where to begin - so I'll just end by saying don't waste your time.

Thank God for e-mail! This moronic mailbox movie has one of the dumbest storylines I've ever had the . . . the . . . pain of watching. How did this script get approved, anyway?
I now have to watch "Speed" again just to see some good chemistry between Bullock and Reeves.
